Biography

Weldon Beauchamp received a B.A. degree in geology from New England College (1981) Henniker, New Hampshire, and an M.S. degree in geology from Oklahoma State University (1983). He worked for Sun International Exploration and Production Company in Dallas, Texas, and London, England (1983-1993). Weldon worked for Sun as a new venture exploration geologist in the North Sea, Africa, Middle East and the mid-continent region of the US. Weldon studied at Cornell University in 1993 where he completed a Doctorate in geophysics, "Tectonic Evolution of the Atlas Mountains, North Africa".
Weldon joined ARCO in Plano, Texas (1997) as a geophysicist in the Middle East group (Iran/Iraq/Turkey/Oman/Qatar) and Latin America group (Bolivia, Peru and Colombia). Weldon was part of a team that recommended and drilled the Margarita X-1 which became the 4 TCF Caipipendi gas discovery in Bolivia.
Weldon started Atlas Exploration and Production LLC as a consulting company in 2000.
Weldon has worked as a consultant for Triton Energy in Equatorial Guinea, Hunt Oil (Togo), ConocoPhillips (Morocco), Hillwood Energy (Iraq), Casa Exploration (Latin America), Chesapeake Energy (Latin America) and others.
Weldon was New Ventures Manager for TransAtlantic Petroleum Corporation for ventures in Morocco, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria. Weldon recommended TAPCOR purchase the Selmo field in Turkey which contains approximately 600 million barrels of oil in place, with approximately 85 mmbls produced to date (~2,600 BOPD).
June 2011 Weldon became the VP of Exploration for LNG Energy Ltd., a Canadian company traded on the Toronto Exchange. Weldon managed exploration activities in Poland, Bulgaria and Papua New Guinea.
Weldon is currently working for several companies as a consulting geophysicist/geologist.
